NNPL Stands Against Racism

We stand against racism

The Newport News Public Library joins the American Library Association, the Public Library Association, the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, the Urban Libraries Council, and the entire library community in denouncing racism and violence towards black and brown people. The Newport News Public Library reaffirms its commitment to doing its part to affect change in the fight against systemic racism by continuing to promote equity, inclusion, and tolerance; eliminate barriers of access to our services; offer relevant resources and programs to enlighten the public on the evils of racism; and advance the diversity of ideas and perspectives. Libraries are safe places where all are welcome.
